We Got Pet Birds

Ciaooooo!

This week the baby birds hatched! There is this little box above our window where our huge Italian blinds roll up into. And there is a little gap that the birds can get into. And they made a nest there. They come swooping in and you hear them crash around in this little box, and you hear all this scratching. The only way for us to kick the birds out is to remove the part of the box that is inside the apartment, which would let the birds loose in our house and that's a no go. But anyways, the baby birds have hatched now. So we will see a bird come swooping in, hear the crash landing, and hear a million birds screeching for a minute or two. And yeah.

Also, we have had some miracle success in the work. People who are motivated to learn and see if this gospel is true have been finding US! They just come out of no where. I haven't had a lot of work up to this point, but we are seeing a lot of things looking up. We have some very prepared people. So we are excited for that.
This week we also had a BBQ on the military base! And oh my goodness it was like I was in the States! We had potato salad, hamburgers, ICE CREAM (not gelato but actual American ice cream!) with Hershey Caramel syrup and chocolate chip cookies! It was sooo wierd but a lot of fun. We had some Italians come too so it was a mix of Italy and America. Definitely enjoyed it.

I also am now a translator. We have to translate all the meetings in church because it's Italian and English. And I had to do Relief Society by myself this week. Its was hard because they don't stop and make it easy to translate. They go off a long time in Italian and then you can't remember the first thing they said. But we made it through, and I think I'll be really good with the language once I leave Caserta.

Anyways it's been a good week. I love you all!!  Keep doing good out there!!

Ciao a Bari

Ciao ciao ciaooo!!

Am I the only one in shock that we are halfway through April??
This week was WILD! For starters, we got transfer calls today. I'm about to start my fifth transfer. And after only one here in Bari, they are sending me off to Caserta. So I will be in the Napels zone, where I can get the best pizza! I'll also be where the US Base is, so I'm going to have access to America food too!! I'm sad to already be leaving Bari, but I know God is in charge of this and He knows what He's doing. However, I will miss the people.

Other cool events this week--I got to visit Polignano a Mara twice. Once to visit some members and then today for P-Day. It is just sooo beautiful. Aaaannnddd it is the birthplace of the man who sings "Volare" (Dominico Modugno) I know you all know this song. If you don't remember it, look it up and you will. I've been singing the song for like 6 weeks now. So all the photos with the beautiful ocean are there. Absolutely lovely.

We spend a good chunk of time finding and we have been trying to get creative. We remembered there was a member's daughter who cut hair. So we went there to get my hair cut. We built a good relationship with her, and she did a good job. There was this cute little girl in the Salon, her name was Rebecca and she was just the queen of the block. She was maybe 10. But she comes walking in and declaring she had gotten this huge foccatcia for free. And then she showed us how to do the salsa. Haha she was so cute. Sorella Silva told her I sing, so she asked me to sing something. So I sang Volare. She must have really liked it cause she kept asking me to sing something else. So I ended up singing a song in English for her, and  taught her how to sing Mary Had A Little Lamb in Italian. It was really cute. She agreed to help me learn Italian. She told me it is "facilissimo." The cut turned out really cute, and it was nice being able to visit a less active. She even gave us a discount so that we could come back. We will be letting the future missionaries know they should go there.

I love you guys and thank you for your support!

Weekly- I've Given up on picking cool subject lines

Ciao ciao my people

This week we had lots of finding, trying to meet with potential investigators and GENERAL CONFERENCE!
Was it not just an amazing experience?!? If you didn't get a chance to watch, go watch it!! It was filled with so many wonderful ways to find strength, and grow our faith! It was just a weekend full of revelations. We had a big pranzo together, and that was fun.

We went and tried to find a less active this week to bring her flowers. We walked an hour to her house, which was in the middle of nowhere and then found out her house didn't exist. Soooo we tried to find a bus back home. It was a nice scenic walk.
I also played bowling and some cool Indian Jones Pinball
Love you!!!

Weekly!

Ciao ciao tutti!!

This week our ward had two baptisms! They were some of the Elders' investigators. So that was so so exciting!
As far as our people, we don't have consistent people to teach, but we have had a lot of appointments. So many that we had to do split with members. I went with the senior couple, and Sorella Silva went with a recent RM. It was a very productive day. (: And we have a lot of people who I think we will start teaching soon.
Oh, our apartment is going on a diet this week. No chocolate, no pasta. So I bought apples, pears, strawberries, cheese, bread, meat, celery, carrots, tomatoes and fresh eggs. And that is what I'll be eating this week. I splurged and bought three types of cheese though. I got fresh fresh stracciatella cheese, some fresh provolone piccante and some Asiago cheese. So my omelets and fruit eating will be good. I also got some fresh salami. So yeah. We are excited to do that all together too. Haha.

As there are all these cute little flower stands everywhere. So I've been buying a lot of flowers lately. I usually have the intention to keep them-but then end up feeling prompted to give them to someone else. For example, I bought a plant thy other day that I wanted to put on the balcony. It's was so beautiful and I was so happy to have it. Then as we were climbing up the stairs to our apartment and as we're passing the apartment directly below us, I had this impression that I needed to give the flowers to her. So, I pulled out a card I had been saving for several weeks, and painted her a little card to make her day. And we dropped them off and wished her a nice day. I didn't think much about it. But this weekend, in Sunday before the baptism, we were making brownies. They were so bad. They did not taste like brownies and had clumps in them. And as we were struggling with it. The doorbell rings and my neighbor has brought this amazing pie she made for us. We took it to the baptism. That was a miracle. Haha

Things are going well here, and I love the people more every day. I love you all!
